Commonwealth Edison (ComEd) has announced that arborists will be performing vegetation management and tree trimming operations in Westchester area neighborhoods within the next three months.
According to ComEd, this routine maintenance work is essential for preventing power outages and maintaining electrical safety. Trees and branches that interfere with power lines can create safety hazards and cause power disruptions, making preventative tree maintenance crucial for reliable electrical service.
What to Expect
During the next three months, ComEd crews will:
- Trim trees, branches, and vines that interfere with or have the potential to interfere with power lines
- Apply herbicide treatments to remaining tree stumps to prevent future regrowth
- Ensure all work is performed by trained, qualified arborists
ComEd emphasizes that this is a courtesy notification and no response from residents is necessary. All herbicide treatments will use state-approved products applied by licensed professionals.
