Westchester Police Department Welcomes Four New Officers
The Westchester Police Department has expanded its ranks with four newly sworn officers, enhancing the village's law enforcement capabilities and community safety resources.
During the February 10, 2026 Village Board meeting, officers Anthony Medina, Jamal Coleman, Nick Davis, and Veronica Suarez officially joined the department. Three of the new officers are completing their field training program, while one represents a lateral transfer from the Chicago Police Department, bringing valuable experience to the local force.
The department expansion comes as part of the village's ongoing commitment to maintaining robust public safety services for residents and businesses. The new officers will help ensure adequate coverage and response times throughout the community while supporting existing departmental initiatives.
The additions are particularly significant as they represent a mix of fresh talent entering law enforcement and experienced professionals choosing to serve the Westchester community. The lateral transfer from Chicago PD brings specialized knowledge and urban policing experience that will benefit the department's operations.
The newly sworn officers will undergo orientation and community familiarization programs as they integrate into their roles serving Westchester residents. The department continues to prioritize professional development and training to ensure officers are well-prepared to address the community's evolving public safety needs.
Residents can expect to see the new officers patrolling neighborhoods and participating in community engagement activities as they become established members of the Westchester Police Department.
